Traveling with your Dog
NorEast Air invites you to travel with your dog in our comfortable, climate controlled cabin. (Dogs must be accompanied by a traveling passenger.)
Dogs must be at least eight (8) weeks old for travel. If two dogs are traveling in the same carrier, no older than six months old, they must be the same breed and weigh less than 20 lbs.
You must have complete control over your dog while traveling with NorEast Air, including within the air terminal, on the tarmac, during boarding, during the flight and leaving the aircraft and airport. It is recommended, though not required, that dogs be contained in a pet carrier/kennel. For dogs not in a pet carrier/kennel, they must be on a leash at all times.
According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, in most cases dogs should not be given sedatives or tranquilizers prior to flying. An animal's natural ability to balance and maintain equilibrium is altered under sedation, which can be dangerous when the kennel is moved.
Animals are exposed to increased altitude pressures, which can create respiratory and cardiovascular problems for dogs and cats which are sedated or tranquilized. Brachycephalic or snub-nosed dogs are especially affected. It is not recommended to travel with these types of dogs aboard NorEast Air or any other airline commercially or privately.
REQUIREMENTS: We require advanced notification of any dog(s) that will be traveling with you. We will need to know the size, age, weight and breed. NorEast Air does not require a health certificate for dogs traveling with you. Many states and foreign countries require that dogs be accompanied by a health certificate. Additional requirements may also apply. The passenger will assume full responsibility for penalties assessed by agencies for non-compliance of dog health and entry requirements.
Of course, service animals accompanying a disabled passenger are always welcome.
So sorry, but we do not allow cats or any other type of animals.
